Definition

INP is Google's Core Web Vitals metric evaluating overall page responsiveness. It measures the latency of user interactions (clicks, taps, keypresses) until visual update.

Understanding INP

In March 2024, INP officially replaced FID (First Input Delay). Unlike FID which only checked the first click, INP tracks the slowest interaction throughout the entire session. A good INP score is 200 milliseconds or less.
